Surveillance video has surfaced showing an alleged theft from back in March at a Walgreens on Hallandale Beach Boulevard, with police accusing Island Boys rapper Alex Venegas of walking off with several toiletries. The footage resurfaced after Venegas, one half of the viral TikTok rap duo, was arrested again earlier this week for missing a court hearing tied to the allegation.
According to NBC 6 South Florida, the video shows Venegas taking the items from the Hallandale Beach Boulevard store, and police say he is the man captured on the recording. NBC 6 describes Venegas as 25 years old, while a separate Local 10 report lists him as 24, a discrepancy that remains unresolved between the two outlets.
Missed Court Date Leads to Second Arrest
Earlier this week, Venegas was arrested again after failing to appear for a court hearing related to the alleged Walgreens theft, the station reports. The outlet's report does not detail the specific date of that hearing or lay out what happens next in the case.
Venegas and his twin brother Frank built a massive following on TikTok in 2021, turning the pair into one of the platform's more recognizable — and polarizing — viral acts almost overnight. That rapid rise into internet fame has been shadowed by a string of legal run-ins for both brothers in the years since, the same report notes.
A Pattern of Trouble for the Island Boys
Frank Venegas was arrested in Fort Lauderdale in 2024 on several driving-related charges, per the outlet's reporting. Nearly a year later, he was arrested again, this time in Naples, where authorities accused him of possessing oxycodone pills and a tampered gun.
The latest allegation against Alex Venegas adds another chapter to the duo's bumpy post-fame trajectory, though the Walgreens case itself remains in its early stages based on what has been publicly reported so far.
