A man was critically injured in Clarksville last night after being struck by a car and was subsequently flown to Nashville for medical treatment. The incident, which involved only one vehicle and the pedestrian, occurred just before 7 p.m. on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard near Center Pointe Drive, as per WSMV.
The Clarksville Police Department swiftly responded to the crash site, and the injured male was promptly flown to a hospital in Nashville. However, authorities have yet to release any updates on his condition. To quickly clear the scene, southbound traffic continued unhindered while northbound vehicles were reduced to a single lane, causing significant congestion.
Officials, including the Fatal Accident Crash Team, were activated to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Clarksville Police Department spokesman Scott Beaubien disclosed to ClarksvilleNow, "FACT investigators were reported to be en route." Motorists were advised to find alternative routes to circumvent the disrupted traffic flow on the boulevard.
Details remain scarce as the investigation is ongoing, and officials have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward. "The southbound lanes of Wilma Rudolph are not affected, however, there is only one northbound lane open," Beaubien stated, as per ClarksvilleNow.
