The incident took place on Saturday evening around 6:45 p.m. near the crossroads of Willow Knolls and Allen roads, Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood confirmed the death the subsequent morning, as per a report from Central Illinois Proud.

Authorities declared that a 44-year-old Peoria man was attempting to cross Allen Road just beyond Willow Knolls Drive when a car, identified as a gray 2000 Volvo and operated by a 19-year-old from Springfield, hit the pedestrian leading to his immediate death at the scene, data furnished by the Illinois State Police elucidates that the crash case is ongoing and, as of yet, no citations have been proffered against the young driver.
