In observance of President's Day, a brief announcement has been issued for Memphis residents concerning waste management schedules. The City of Memphis announced that government offices will be closed on Monday, February 17, and no trash collection will be provided for residents who normally receive services from the City of Memphis Solid Waste Management on that day.
There's a slight adjustment for early week collections: "Monday and Tuesday customers: Put your carts out on Tuesday, February 18, for collection." For the rest, the usual rhythm of refuse removal remains undisturbed, Tuesday to Friday customers should stick to their regular collection day, though they may experience some delay as city workers will be required to work overtime to catch up, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the Friday following the holiday, according to the City of Memphis.
Meanwhile, Team Waste, an alternate provider, will be operating business as usual. Their customers don't need to make any changes for the week of February 17. If you're serviced by Team Waste, set your trash out according to your usual schedule. However, do note that services for extra trash and yard waste will be limited during this period.
If your waste collection day is coming up, make sure to have your carts ready by 7:00 a.m. Residents looking to keep updated can download the Memphis Curbside Collection app. It's offered for both Apple and Android users, providing a convenient way to stay informed about schedule changes and collection updates.
