A man was arrested in Miami-Dade County for allegedly exposing himself to customers at a local Dollar Tree. Manuel Riopedre, 42, was taken into custody Thursday evening after being accused of indecent exposure inside the store earlier in the week. Local 10 reported that the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at a Dollar Tree located at 1255 NW 103rd St.
A woman shopping in the store described seeing Riopedre following her and engaging in what she interpreted as inappropriate behavior. The woman began to instinctively record him with her phone when she noticed his actions. Shortly after, Riopedre is said to have exposed himself and began to masturbate while maintaining eye contact with her, as detailed by Local 10.
After being informed she was recording, Riopedre stopped and left the store. The woman later provided the police with the surveillance footage of the incident. According to investigators, this helped to swiftly identify Riopedre as the suspect, and the victim positively identified him in a photo lineup.
According NBC Miami, Riopedre was expected to make a court appearance on today following his arrest. As of last reports, attorney information wasn't yet available. Upon his arrest, Riopedre invoked his right to remain silent and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. His bond is to be set.
