After a standout All-Star weekend, Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro traded basketballs for a cash register. Herro worked the drive-thru at Raising Cane's in Doral, Local 10 reported. Winning the NBA's three-point contest on All-Star Saturday wasn't enough for Tyler Herro—he also scored six points in his first All-Star game.
A few lucky customers got more than they bargained for, with a side of celebrity interaction along with their meals, as reported by WSVN. They were expecting to grab a quick bite but ended up with memorabilia signed, sometimes even forgetting to take their meals as they handed over Heat gear for autographs. Herro, who is known for his on-court skills, was dishing out the "best chicken fingers on planet Earth," as well as some off-court advice to young fans, telling them to "Keep working hard and chasing your dreams."
The community was treated to this unexpected meet-and-greet with the Heat standout, as he also interacted with fans indoors, sharing his love for the "box combo" which he dubbed the "All-star combo." The gesture was a way to share his Three-Point Shootout victory celebration with the local crowd, celebrating his win which took place just a few short days ago. With the Heat's next game looming tonight in Toronto, and the team on a four-game losing skid, fans were surely looking for that Herro-ic boost off the court as much as on it.
Herro's shift at Raising Cane's wasn't just a publicity stunt, the player actually has a history with the fast-food chain. Before becoming a Miami fixture, Herro frequented Cane's during his college days in Kentucky. “I actually come here, and I eat Cane’s on the regular,” Herro elucidated, as noted by WSVN.
