A 61-year-old woman is in serious condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital following a fiery vehicular accident yesterday early morning in Miami. According to NBC Miami, the collision occurred shortly after 1 a.m. near the intersection of Southwest 17th Avenue and South Dixie Highway. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the blaze that had engulfed the vehicle after the crash.
The woman's car was severely damaged during the incident, which is still under investigation by authorities. WSVN reported that the car was set on fire after crashing with another vehicle, which was also totaled at the side of the road. Witnesses described hearing a loud bang, followed by sirens and police arriving at the scene.
One witness mentioned the quick response of emergency crews, saying, “So there were here, right on target, but that car went up in total flames, and I didn’t know there were two cars involved,” in a statement obtained by WSVN.
