Tonight's outlook includes a subtle 20 percent chance of snow post 3 a.m., with the weather taking a cloudy turn and lows resting around 21 degrees, the north wind will be maintaining a calm pace around 5 mph, Wednesday's forecast promises a higher 30 percent probability of snow after noon coupled with an overcast sky and peak temperatures near 31 degrees, the southeast wind kicking up to speeds between 5 and 15 mph.
As Wednesday night rolls in, Milwaukee should anticipate snow likely before 9 p.m. transitioning to snow and freezing rain between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., followed by potential freezing rain, the NWS Milwaukee has also communicated an 80% chance that precipitation will take place, with less than 0.1 inches of ice and less than a half inch of new snow likely to accumulate as southeast winds, eventually shifting southwest post-midnight, blow up to 15 mph.
The latter part of the week brings some respite with mostly cloudy skies gradually clearing up on Thursday, leading to a sunny high around 39 degrees, while the typically brisk west winds will see gusts reaching up to 30 mph, the temperature will then drop substantially during Thursday night, settling near 13 degrees as northwest winds blow through at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts potentially as high as 30 mph. Friday's conditions forecast partly sunny skies with a high around 27 degrees, thanks to a more moderate northwest wind blowing at 5 to 10 mph.
As the week progresses, Milwaukee residents should gear up for a snowy Saturday with a 70 percent likelihood of snowfall mainly after noon under mostly cloudy conditions and a high near 32 degrees. Snow chances taper off to 30 percent before midnight Saturday night, with lows again hovering around 20 degrees. The week concludes on a brighter note with predominantly sunny days both on Sunday and Monday, offering highs near 30 and 25 degrees respectively, and overnight lows expected to drop to around 12 degrees on Sunday night as per the information shared by the NWS Milwaukee.
