
A motorcycle accident in Miramar yesterday afternoon has left a man seriously injured. At around 4:58 PM, the 31-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was operating a 2011 Kawasaki 650R Ninja in a parking lot at 6900 Miramar Road when he lost control and crashed, the San Diego Police Department reports.
According to the San Diego Police Department Watch Commander, Officer J. Perales, the motorcyclist went down unassisted by any other vehicles, resulting in the motorcycle landing on his foot. Despite wearing a helmet riding, the man sustained an open fracture to his foot, a dislocated ankle, and abrasions to his knee and forearm.
According to the SDPD, alcohol was a factor in the collision, which is now under investigation by the department's Traffic Division. More details might emerge as investigators comb through the evidence and possibly review any surveillance footage from the area or witness statements.
