Following a bank robbery in January, Nashville authorities have successfully apprehended one of the two suspected culprits, while the search continues for his alleged accomplice. According to a statement obtained by the Nashville Government website, Jaylan Smith, 18, is now in police custody facing robbery charges with a bond set at $75,000. The incident in question occurred at the Fifth Third Bank located on 5550 Old Hickory Boulevard.
Law enforcement officials detailed that during the January 29 bank robbery, one man passed a note to a teller demanding money while his accomplice stood by the door. Tips from the public played a pivotal role in identifying Smith and his partner, 19-year-old Andrew Holsapple, leading to the swift capture of Smith. Efforts are now focused on locating Holsapple, for whom a warrant has been issued on charges of robbery.
Nashville Crime Stoppers has encouraged anyone with information regarding Holsapple's whereabouts to come forward. They provide an avenue where tipsters can remain anonymous and potentially qualify for a cash reward. Those with leads are urged to call 615-742-7463.
