The Nashville Metro Police have identified a man wanted for questioning after a robbery that escalated to a fatal shooting outside the Mall at Green Hills earlier this month.
The victim, 31-year-old Genesis Denton, was accosted while carrying two Louis Vuitton shopping bags to his vehicle last Tuesday. According to WSMV, a Tesla approached him, from which 30-year-old Omari Rashad Moore, of Nashville, allegedly emerged to rob Denton. Fleeing the scene in a rented Volvo SUV, with an Illinois driver’s license, Denton has not yet made contact with authorities.
Following the robbery, the driver of the Tesla, Emmanuel Easley, also 30, was shot and later died after losing control of the car, crashing into a tree near the I-65 North entrance ramp. Moore has been taken into custody and stands accused of aggravated robbery, while the U.S. Department of Justice also charged him with being a felon in possession of a firearm, WSMV reports.
Metro Police are seeking to question Denton about the incident, as they have numerous inquiries regarding his involvement or witness account. WKRN shared that, to date, Denton has made no known attempts to reach out to law enforcement. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers have the option to remain anonymous, as MNPD continues to unravel the details that have left one suspect deceased and another facing serious charges.
