
The New Orleans Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting on the Claiborne Avenue Bridge, where an officer was injured by a fleeing vehicle. The Public Integrity Bureau Force Investigation Team is examining the officers' actions during the incident, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
On Thursday, a stolen blue Nissan Sentra, taken during an armed robbery on the 1300 block of France Street, was spotted by officers. At 5:12 p.m., officers stopped the car on a bridge and arrested three suspects. A white Kia sedan, also connected to the robbery, tried to flee and hit an officer, leading to gunfire from three officers, as reported by the New Orleans Police Department.
A New Orleans officer was hit by a speeding white Kia sedan, and the driver fled. The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver is still at large, and the New Orleans Police Department is asking for tips to help catch them.
