The New Orleans Police Department has requested the public's help to identify and apprehend an individual suspected of theft by fraud, involving a stolen credit card used to rack up more than $18,000 in charges. The unlawful spending spree took place across a smattering of retail stores in the New Orleans area, as reported by the NOPD News Facebook page.
The suspect, whose actions were carried out on January 8, managed to elude capture thus far, leaving law enforcement to turn to the community for clues. In their plea, the NOPD disclosed, "According to investigators, on January 8, 2025 the pictured suspect used a stolen credit card to make more than $18,000 in fraudulent purchases."
Authorities are urging anyone with knowledge about the thefts or the suspect's identity to contact the Eighth District detectives directly at 504-658-6080. For those wishing to remain anonymous, there's an alternative path offered through Crimestoppers, which can be reached at 504-822-1111.
