Early this morning, a school bus carrying 25 elementary students collided with a utility pole on Cape Cod, causing worry among residents and parents. According to WHDH, the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department reacted to the incident that occurred at the intersection of Ebenezer and Lumbert Mill roads in Marstons Mills. Arriving minutes after the crash at around 7:57 a.m., emergency crews were greeted by the sight of the downed pole and the damaged bus.
Miraculously, despite the collision's potential to cause harm to the young passengers, there were no injuries. The students, along with their driver, emerged unscathed. All 25 children were safely transported to Barnstable United Elementary School on a replacement bus, as reported by Cape Cod Times.
The local utility company Eversource was called to handle the repairs of the utility pole. As the workers went about their task, the unanswered question remained as to what caused the bus to veer into the pole. Investigation into the crash is ongoing, being led by the Barnstable Police Department.
