Yesterday, tension gripped the halls of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School as students found themselves in lockdown. An anonymous tip, conveyed through social media by the Fall River Police Department, indicated that a student reportedly had a firearm on campus. This unverified information, which originated from a lunchtime conversation the previous day, prompted immediate action to ensure everyone's safety.
The school implemented a lockdown and School Resource Officers were dispatched to locate the student in question. In a detailed Facebook post, the Fall River Police Department stated, "the identified student was located, brought to an administrative office, and searched by both law enforcement and school officials." The thorough search resulted in no weapon being found on the student's person or at the student’s residence, which was also scrutinized as a measure of caution.
Details obtained from the police department's social media update reveal that the individual who gave the tip was identified and interviewed. Acknowledging the complexity and volatility of such predicaments, the department extended its gratitude for the cooperation of students, parents, and teachers throughout the ordeal.
