A shooting occurred on Dabney Street in a Roxbury neighborhood yesterday evening, resulting in one person sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, as confirmed by local law enforcement officials.
Officers rushed to the intersection of Dabney and Fountain Streets at about 10 p.m. after reports of gunfire; there they found one individual with a gunshot wound, according to Boston 25 News, the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and the Boston Police remained on-scene deep into the night, piecing together the circumstances that led to this violent act, however, no arrests had been made, and the identity of the person shot remained undisclosed by the authorities.
"Preliminary reports showed the person was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital," Officer Michael Torigian, a spokesperson for the Boston Police Department, told The Boston Globe. At this stage, details surrounding the shooting incident are sparse and the gender of the person injured was not specified, the authorities are continuing their active investigation on the scene.
