Mark your calendars, parents and guardians in the Bridgeton area, because the season of sunshine and outdoor play is fast approaching, and with it comes the annual scramble for a spot in the coveted local day camps. As announced on the City of Bridgeton website by the folks over at the Bridgeton Recreation Center, registration for their day camps will swing open bright and early at 5:30 am on February 25, but this initial window is exclusively for BRC Members & local Bridgeton Residents ready with a current household membership or a Bridgeton Resident ID card in hand.
For those who are part of the Bridgeton in-crowd, this is their shot to secure a place before the metaphorical gates open to the masses, namely non-residents, on March 4. The process is decidedly old-school — you've got to show up in person at the Bridgeton Recreation Center to get in on the action, no digital shortcuts available. Registration for non-residents may seem a week away but don't be lulled into complacency, as these spots are known to fill up faster than a kiddie pool on a hot summer's day.
According to the Bridgeton Recreation Center's announcement, cost and session details for the day camps will be available at the time of registration, laying out the summer schedule that's just over the horizon. For families seeking to foster childhood experiences of camaraderie, outdoorsmanship, and perhaps a touch of that quintessential summer camp mischief, this moment can't come soon enough.
