Nashville police have arrested 34-year-old James Josey III, a registered sex offender, after he was reportedly caught in the women's restroom of the Hard Rock Café on Broadway. According to a statement from the Nashville Police Department, Josey was detained by bystanders on Friday night before being taken into custody by the authorities.
During police questioning, Josey is said to have admitted to recording a 16-year-old girl in a bathroom stall for sexual gratification, leading to charges of invasion of privacy and disorderly conduct. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Josey was quickly released on a $6,000 bond. This is not the first time Josey has been accused of similar transgressions; he has a history of invading the privacy of women in restrooms, which is troublingly all too common in his criminal background.
Josey's criminal record includes a previous arrest in April of 2022, where he was charged with a felony for recording individuals in a women's restroom at a Whataburger in Hermitage. He filmed victims as young as 2 years old, an incident for which he was eventually convicted of a misdemeanor and sentenced to 11 months and 29 days. This is noted in the Nashville Police Department's report, pointing to a pattern of behavior that Josey has repeatedly exhibited over the years.
