The Colma Police Department reported the arrest of a repeat offender following a theft incident in Colma, where approximately $90 worth of merchandise was stolen. According to their social media post, the event unfolded last Sunday when officers were called to a business on the 700 block of Serramonte Boulevard around 7:00 PM.

Upon arrival, authorities located a man near 600 block who matched the suspect's description. The man was detained and later confirmed to be the thief. In addition to the recent theft, a records check revealed the suspect had an outstanding $1,000 misdemeanor warrant and a history of theft convictions dating back to 2004, with the most recent ones in 2023 and 2024, according to the Colma Police Department.

The three prior convictions, coupled with Proposition 36, led to the suspect's arrest on felony theft charges with priors. The man, identified as 46-year-old San Francisco resident Rocky Sterio, now faces charges of felony theft with priors, shoplifting, and his warrant. Following the arrest, he was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
