Riviera Beach Police Nab Suspect in Weekend Shooting, Rodney Sanders Charged with First-Degree Murder

Rapid police work in Riviera Beach has led to the arrest of a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. Riviera Beach Police officers were called to the scene just after midnight following reports of gunfire at 2536 Canterbury Drive North, where they discovered a woman inside her car with multiple gunshot wounds, as noted in a report by CBS12.

The victim was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center and, despite efforts to save her life, she was pronounced dead. The Riviera Beach Police have since identified Rodney L. Sanders as the suspect in the case. Subsequently, Sanders was taken into custody and is currently held at Palm Beach County Jail on charges that include first-degree murder, as stated in a WPBF news release.

Rodney Lavon Sanders Jr., 25, now faces several charges connected to the incident including carrying a prohibited weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon alongside the murder charge.
