San Diego County was shattered by a violent incident last night. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 20200 block of Rancho Villa Rd following a call about an assault with a deadly weapon at approximately 8:58 p.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered a Hispanic woman in her 50s, suffering from multiple stab wounds in a residential home. Deputies attempted life-saving procedures until paramedics from Cal Fire took over, but despite these efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation has been taken over by the Sheriff's Homicide Unit, which is currently working to understand the circumstances that led to this fatal incident. As of now, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and there is no suspect information available.
