
A school bus carrying three students was involved in a crash with a truck at the intersection of Fort Pierce Boulevard and Winter Garden Parkway, officials said. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon, and both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 2:20 p.m.
According to TCPalm, the bus was heading north on Fort Pierce Boulevard when the truck, traveling northwest, failed to yield the right-of-way, causing the crash. Lt. Andrew Bolonka of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that three children were on the bus at the time.
The students suffered minor scrapes and were released to their parents. The conditions of the two drivers taken to the hospital were not immediately known, as CBS12 reported.
