Travelers in St. Bernard Parish should brace for minor delays as roadwork is scheduled to take place on LA 300 (Bayou Rd), starting this Friday. According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, paving operations are set to begin on Friday at 6:30 AM and are expected to conclude on March 7 by 5:00 PM, weather permitting.
The operation will cause a partial closure, affecting both left and right lanes alternatively, as crews perform asphalt milling and paving operations; the work will cause a recurring alternating single lane closure on Friday, Monday, Mar 3 then again from Wednesday, Mar 5th to Friday, Mar 7, from 6:30 AM to 5 PM each day notably there will be no closures on Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday, which aligns with Mardi Gras Day festivities, as detailed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
The work affects the road between LA 39 and Stay Park Dr. This project, part of the H.014771.6 plan, will improve the road and make it safer. Though there may be some delays for a week, the new pavement will be a big improvement over the old, worn road on LA 300, as per the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
