On Tuesday, around 7:30 a.m., a 53-year-old man was arrested in the North Pointe neighborhood for kidnapping and robbery. Officers responded to a robbery at a residence on the 8500 block of Mora Lane, where a 52-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were attacked. he suspect allegedly robbed the woman with knives and a sledgehammer, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police.

The confrontation started when the suspect accused the woman of stealing and assaulted her, taking her phone. He also threatened the 41-year-old man with violence if he intervened. As things escalated, the suspect armed himself with knives, positioned himself at the top of the stairs, and prevented the victims from leaving, trapping them inside, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police.
