A man was reportedly shot by an acquaintance during an argument in the Penrose neighborhood. The incident, which occurred on the 4800 block of Bessie, unfolded around 7 p.m. yesterday. The victim, a 42-year-old man, had a disagreement with a 38-year-old family acquaintance reportedly over ongoing issues. The victim alleged to have been shot in the arm by the suspect during the confrontation, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD).
The shooter then proceeded to quickly leave the scene in a white Dodge Avenger. The search for the 38-year-old suspect continues as of the last report, with District 6 officers actively investigating the shooting. Immediately following the incident, Emergency Medical Services were called and transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound. As detailed by SLMPD, his injuries have been documented and he is currently recovering.
Authorities are now reaching out to the public, urging anyone with information related to this crime to come forward.
