A stolen Honda SUV was brought back into the arms of legality last night after a police chase that spanned across North Miami, officials confirmed. Florida Highway Patrol troopers had been aiding Pembroke Pines Police in the search for the vehicle, and their collective efforts culminated in a successful apprehension, despite the suspects ultimately escaping on foot.

According to FHP Lt. Alex Camacho, troopers cornered the vehicle in North Miami, and in an attempt to stop the Honda, the driver initiated a chase. The short-lived pursuit ended near Northeast 126th Street and 12th Avenue, where troopers used a strategic PIT maneuver, effectively rendering the stolen SUV incapacitated. In the confusion following the strategically executed maneuver, the vehicle's occupants managed to flee the scene and currently remain undiscovered, Camacho mentioned in a statement obtained by Local 10 News.

Unseen but not undetected, a video posted by Only in Dade managed to capture the chase's climax. It revealed two FHP cruisers positioned adjacent to the disabled Honda, as a trooper is observed canvassing the neighboring area with a flashlight. The pursuit, illuminated both by the vehicles and a circling helicopter's searchlight, reached its zenith when a suspect, blurred and fleeting, was spotted running from the law's grasp.

The footage provided a visual account of the chase but failed to capture the fleeing individuals. The Honda SUV, though located, remained unattended as its occupants are now the focus of an ongoing search.
