A student at Charles W. Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines was arrested after a written threat was found on school premises. According to WSVN, the threat was discovered in one of the school's bathrooms, prompting an immediate response from Pembroke Pines Police.
Police quickly located and arrested the student allegedly responsible for the threat. One student told NBC Miami, "I don’t know what is said but it was definitely a threat and definitely taken seriously." Police reassured the community that there was no credible threat to students, staff, or the campus.
The school was placed on a "code secure" status this morning after a student appeared to jump a fence to leave campus, as per NBC Miami. This led to a delay preventing students from driving onto campus for about an hour.
"Our department is once again asking parents to please speak to their children about the seriousness of making school threats," the police told NBC Miami.
