Early yesterday morning, two vehicles were found submerged in a pond on the northwest side of Indianapolis, leading to an investigation by local police. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a call at approximately 8:06 a.m. regarding a vehicle spotted in the pond near the intersection of 62nd Street and Coffman Road, as FOX59 reported. Upon their arrival, officers found not one, but two vehicles that had crashed into the water.
Further investigation suggested a "rolling disturbance" between the drivers, who, it appeared, knew one another, according to WISH-TV. This altercation seemingly culminated in both vehicles veering off the road, with one becoming completely submerged. Despite the circumstances, both drivers managed to escape with only minor injuries, with one being transported to a local hospital for treatment, and the other, after being checked out by medics at the scene, was released.
The details of the "disturbance" leading to this event have yet to be fully disclosed. However, authorities believe that the drivers' preexisting relationship may have been a contributing factor to the incident escalating as it did. As noted by WRTV, one vehicle was "completely submerged" following the crash, indicating the magnitude of the turmoil between the two parties.
IMPD has not provided extensive details on the identity of the individuals involved nor on what specifically initiated the altercation. The investigation is ongoing, and updates are expected as more information becomes available. Both drivers were fortunate to sustain only minor injuries from the ordeal.
