
Two individuals were injured in a shooting at a car dealership on Chicago's South Side, according to NBC Chicago. The incident occurred on Thursday evening in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, where a man and a woman found themselves the targets of an unknown assailant's gunfire.
The victims were inside South Chicago Dodge Chrysler Jeep, located at 7340 S. Western Ave. when the shooter came in and opened fire. The 20-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in fair condition. The 50-year-old woman sustained a graze wound to her right arm and was also transported to the hospital, where she was reported to be in good condition. It was not immediately clear what relationship, if any, the victims had with one another.
CBS Chicago reported that the shooting happened at around 6:30 p.m. at 7340 S. Western Ave. Despite the violent scene, there has been no word on a potential motive or any suspects.
Detectives from the Wentworth Area are working to thoroughly investigate the case. As of now, there remains a lack of further information available concerning the shooter or what may have led up to the incident. The car dealership has yet to publicly comment on the shooting.
