Tragedy struck in the Azalea/Hollywood Park neighborhood as gun violence reared its ugly head once again at 2600 Fairmount Ave. According to a news release from the San Diego Police Department, a shooting last night left two men wounded, their bodies marred by gunfire.
Officer J. Perales, the watch commander on duty, reported that the San Diego Police were called to the scene at 7:20 PM, where they discovered one adult male victim with gunshot wounds to his torso. Paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital for treatment. A second male victim related to the first was transported by private vehicle to a different hospital, also with wounds to the torso. Thankfully, the injuries sustained by both men are not expected to lead to mortal conclusions, the watch commander's log stated.
