Authorities in Hallandale Beach are intensifying their search efforts to locate Jaylise Santana, a 14-year-old girl who has been reported missing since yesterday. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), along with the Hallandale Beach Police Department, has turned to the public seeking assistance. According to FDLE, as reported by WSVN, Jaylise was last seen in the area of 900 block of Southwest Eighth Street. She is described as being 5 feet and 3 inches tall and weighing about 95 pounds.
Her last known outfit consisted of a black shirt paired with either a skirt or pants, and she might be wearing crocs or sneakers. Additionally, she may have a black hoodie and a gold chain necklace with "Jaylise" inscribed on it. A distinctive scar on her right knee is also mentioned as a notable feature. The Hallandale Beach Police Department is asking anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to reach out by calling 954-457-1400 or dialing 911.
A Missing Child Alert was issued last night for Santana, signaling increased urgency in the search. Local10 also reports that Jaylise's weight is around 100 pounds. She left home following a disagreement with her mother, which adds a layer of concern for her safety. “A notebook was later found containing concerning messages indicating possible self-harm, raising serious concerns for her well-being,” as noted by authorities.
The Hallandale Beach Police Department continues to urge individuals with information to come forward.
