
Small business owners in Miami-Dade's District 9 looking to kickstart or enhance their operations have an ally in Vice Chairman Kionne L. McGhee. Through the Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program, McGhee is offering local entrepreneurs a chance to apply for financial support. This initiative aims to assist with various business-related expenses, a move that underscores the importance placed on small businesses as engines of economic vibrancy, as per the county's official announcement.
Starting today and continuing until February 28, interested parties can download applications from the County website, or physically pick them up at the Richmond Heights Business Development Hub. Eligibility requirements lean towards supporting established small enterprises, with a mandatory stipulation that they must be situated within the district's confines, and have been operational for a year or more. As stated in the county announcement, grant funds can be utilized to definitely help with the purchase of business-related expenses.
In a bid to ensure clarity and fairness, Vice Chairman McGhee's office has scheduled a mandatory informational meeting for February 25. The meeting will be conducted via Zoom at 6 p.m., with access details provided on the County website. This session is intended to clarify the application process and answer any questions regarding eligibility criteria. "Attending the meeting does not guarantee funding, and it is recommended that applicants do not complete the application before attending the meeting," warns the district notice.
The Richmond Heights Business Development Hub will be accepting completed applications from March 3 to March 7, strictly enforcing a 4 p.m. deadline for the final day. Applicants are required to hand-deliver their forms in a sealed envelope, a directive designed to probably ensure a measure of security and integrity in the submission process.
