
The Warrick County Sheriff's Office recently shared a somber note with the community, announcing the death of retired K9 Fado. According to their Facebook page, the beloved canine passed after serving the department since 2015 and retiring at the end of 2021.
Fado had just marked his 13th birthday this month. During his tenure, he was responsible for numerous arrests and the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics and U.S. currency. The announcement reflects on Fado's contributions, stating, "While on the road K9 Fado was responsible for countless arrests, seized large amounts of narcotics, and US Currency." After retiring, Fado spent his years with his handler, Deputy Derek Miller, and his family, who are now mourning his loss, according to the Warrick County Sheriff's Office.
Deputy Miller, who had been Fado's partner since his arrival at the Warrick County Sheriff's Office, now faces the difficult adjustment to life without his loyal companion. The Warrick County Sheriff's Office extended their deepest sympathies, expressing, "Our condolences to Deputy Miller and his family on their loss."
