Indianapolis Stabbing Near New York and Temple Leaves Victim Critical

Indianapolis police officers responding to what was first reported as a shooting near New York Street and Temple Avenue early Saturday instead found a person who had been stabbed. The victim was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries, and as of Saturday morning, no arrests had been made.

According to WTHR, officers were dispatched just before 4:30 a.m. after initial reports described a shooting in the area, only to discover on arrival that the victim had actually suffered stab wounds. WISH-TV similarly reported that the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the incident near New York Street and Temple Avenue just after 4 a.m., confirming the person found there had been stabbed and was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
