WSU President Brad Mortensen personally went to announce the honors, making surprise visits to recipients in their classrooms. During these visits, Mortensen read aloud from some of the nomination letters, putting a spotlight on the ways these professors have to directly inspire and influence their students. Recipients of this year's award span diverse academic fields, including teacher education, nursing, and computer science, among others.

The honored professors include Katarina Anderson in teacher education; Tamara Berghout and Rieneke Holman from the nursing department; Randall Boyle representing management information systems; Sam Bryson of the music faculty; Ryan Evans from the English department; and Sarah Herrmann in psychological science. The list also features Scott Holland in automotive technology; Michelle Jeffs from criminal justice; Joshua Jensen in computer science; Demetrios Pagonis of the chemistry department; and Hannah Stedge in athletic training.

Michelle Jeffs, an assistant professor of criminal justice and a Weber State alum, spoke proudly about the award. "It’s really rewarding to know that my efforts have had an impact on students," Jeffs said, per Weber State University. She further stated her commitment to nurturing personal connections with her students, aiming to enrich their academic and practical understanding. Jeffs also emphasized her continuous strive to learn new techniques to ensure that students are getting the most effective educational experience possible.
