A new initiative in West Palm Beach will support small and minority/women-owned businesses with a free workshop starting April 9. The workshop will focus on mastering the Response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) process. It is a four-part program created by the City of West Palm Beach and Ultimate Image Coach to help businesses compete for government and corporate contracts, as per the City of West Palm Beach website.
The workshop will cover crucial skills for bid writing and proposal presentation. Two sessions will be held at the Mandel Library Auditorium, and the other two will be streamed via Zoom. The series will take place on Wednesdays from April 9 to April 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Entrepreneurs will learn from procurement professionals, receive feedback on their proposals, and have networking opportunities.
The workshop will focus on practical application. It will cover topics like understanding the RFP and procurement process in West Palm Beach and improving proposals with expert guidance. Sandra Hammerstein, the SBE & M/WBE Programs Compliance Officer for the City, said, "This workshop is an essential resource for small businesses looking to expand their reach and tap into government and corporate contracting opportunities. We are committed to helping local entrepreneurs strengthen their capabilities and compete successfully," in a statement obtained by the City of West Palm Beach.
Business owners are encouraged to register quickly, as spots are limited. To sign up for the workshop, small business owners can visit the official registration page.
