Yesterday morning, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Hurricane Betty's following a disturbance that resulted in a stabbing incident. Officers arrived at the scene around 2:05 a.m. to find a man with a neck wound, the victim of an apparent altercation turned violent.
The incident unfolded when the victim observed his acquaintances engaged in an argument with a woman identified as 31-year-old Abigail Gallagher of Hopedale. While attempting to diffuse the situation, he sustained a stab wound and was also assaulted with pepper spray. After the assault, he was transported to a local hospital for his injuries, according to the Worcester Police Department's Facebook update.
In connection with the violent encounter, Gallagher has been arrested and faces serious charges. The police have charged her with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder and two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. These charges, reflect the gravity of the actions that took place at the well-known local establishment.
