
A tragic incident occurred in Joliet, where a 6-year-old boy died after his ATV collided with a tree, according to local authorities. ABC 7 Chicago reported that the Joliet police responded to the accident on Saturday around 5:04 p.m. in the 900-block of Mission Boulevard, involving a REX110 ATV.
The police stated the young driver lost control of the vehicle and subsequently struck a tree, an incident that tragically ejected him from the ATV leading to his fatal injuries; he was accompanied by an 8-year-old boy on the ATV who, fortunately, did not sustain injuries. Taken to the hospital soon after the incident, the 6-year-old ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Details provided by CBS News Chicago further clarify that firefighters transported the victim to St. Joseph Medical Center following the crash between the 900 and 1000 block of Mission Boulevard, where the incident was confined.
