An 82-year-old Fort Pierce man, Charron Graham, passed away after being pulled from a local lake last night. The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a missing person around 5:15 p.m. in a residential area near Fort Pierce Boulevard and Seminole Road, CBS12 reported.
According to TC Palm report, officials said Graham had been seen swimming in the lake earlier and was found by a deputy about 15 yards off the shore. The deputy, after abandoning his gear, dove into the water and brought Graham back to land.
Graham was immediately transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce by St. Lucie County Fire Rescue. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead later. The cause and manner of death were still undetermined at the time of the report.
Lt. Andrew Bolonka, a sheriff's spokesperson, said it was not uncommon for Graham to swim in the lake.
