In a recent trial that concluded in Cook County, a significant sum of $10.5 million was awarded to the husband of Sylwia Wagner Jarosz, a 45-year-old kindergarten teacher and bicyclist who tragically lost her life in an accident in Arlington Heights back in 2022, as ABC 7 Chicago reported.

The fatal incident took place early morning on September 29, 2022, when Jarosz was en route to work, coming to a stop at the red light at the intersection of Lake Cook and Wilke roads, where she met her untimely demise a Ford F550 owned by AJC Concrete Construction, involved in the crash came barreling down east on Lake Cook Road, as the driver attempted to make a left turn and collided with a Chevrolet Equinox resulting in the truck's veering off route, according to WGN-TV.

"As she was waiting for the light to turn green, a truck owned by AJC Concrete Construction attempted to make a left-hand turn from Lake Cook Road onto Wilke Road. The driver did not stop before entering the intersection over the speed limit and collided with another vehicle, causing the truck to veer off the road and strike Sylwia on her bicycle," detailed a statement from the family's attorney obtained by ABC 7 Chicago.

Following the admission of liability by the defendants, a trial focused solely on the damages was initiated on March 11. Just two days into the proceedings, the jury decided upon the multimillion-dollar compensation, as highlighted in a report by WGN-TV.
