A Wareham takeout restaurant was the scene of an armed robbery late Saturday night, with the suspect still at large. China Chef located at 1 Depot Street, was held up by a male dressed in all black, his face masked by a bandana, as reported by the Wareham Police Department via a recent Facebook post.
The police were called to the scene just before midnight last Saturday. According to the employee's account, the suspect brandished a black revolver-style firearm and demanded money. He then reached over the counter, seized an undetermined amount of US currency, and made his escape on foot. Following the incident, an exhaustive search was conducted with the aid of a Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department K-9, however, the suspect evaded capture.
The Wareham Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division is spearheading the ongoing investigation. The authorities are now reaching out to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the individual involved.
