The streets of Weymouth echoed with an unsettling silence following the armed robbery of a local CVS Pharmacy at the end of February. According to a Facebook report by the Weymouth Police Department, an arrest has finally been made in connection with the case that rattled this neighborhood near 474 Washington Street.
25-year-old Nathan A. Kilian was apprehended earlier today, with authorities tightening their grasp on him around 2:40 a.m. at South Shore Hospital. Identified as homeless, Kilian now faces several charges, including armed robbery with a firearm and larceny of a drug. On the night of February 26, the suspect allegedly brandished a gun, demanded medication, and vanished without a trace—leaving officers searching in vain.
The charges set against Kilian do not stop at the violent overture of armed robbery. He is also accused of assault with intent to rob, larceny over $1,200, larceny from a person, a detailed litany of his alleged transgressions against society's peace. The Weymouth Police Department, revealing the details of Kilian's charges, emphasize the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, a cornerstone sentiment of the justice system.
After being held overnight at the Weymouth Police Headquarters, Kilian is set to appear in Quincy District Court today.
