
This morning, gunfire was reported on Southbridge Street in the Auburn community. According to a social media post from the Auburn MA Police Department, a call came in at around 2:00 a.m. reporting possible shots fired at the address of 65 Southbridge Street. Upon arrival, police officers found an adult male with gunshot wounds.
First responders provided aid to the wounded man before transporting him to a local hospital, where his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening. While securing the area, approximately 60 spent shell casings were found by the officers, suggesting a severe altercation took place.
The Auburn Police Department believes this to be an "isolated incident" and has assured the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation is being conducted by Auburn Police Detectives, who are working to understand the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
