A 29-year-old man from Boca Raton, Deshawn Tyres Allen, has been arrested by the Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) and charged with first-degree murder. Allen is accused of fatally shooting Chaddric Loray, 52, early Monday morning in Pompano Beach. The incident occurred just before 4:45 a.m. on the 700 block of Northwest Ninth Avenue, according to Local 10 News.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Loray with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, who were unable to save him. Authorities believe an earlier argument led to the shooting. Allen allegedly thought Loray was talking to his girlfriend, which led him to follow Loray to two separate locations before the shooting. Allen is currently being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail.

An arrest report revealed that a previous altercation between Allen and Loray involved Loray pulling a gun on Allen, though no one was injured. NBC Miami reported a witness at the scene heard approximately eight gunshots and identified a pickup truck, known to be Allen’s, near the shooting location.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details about the incident are expected to emerge.
