As we look ahead, the coastal areas might not be as lucky, with sea breezes potentially keeping the day's high just under 50 degrees, while the rest of the city might witness a slight chance of showers later in the day due to a minor weather disturbance brewing offshore; furthermore, the question of when Boston will see the return of the warmer 60-degree weather continues to hang in the air.
Unfortunately, the warmth enjoyed by the Midwest seems reluctant to make its way into New England. Locals hoping for a significant temperature increase may have to settle for slightly warmer weather accompanied by continued showers, as NBC Boston elaborates.
The silver lining, however, is that the recurrent precipitation is likely to quell the persistent drought conditions that have plagued much of New England since last fall, and the ensuing week holds no promise of drought conditions with the frequent cloudy forecasts and shower opportunities; indeed, the National Weather Service predicts chances of rain showers ranging from 20% to 60%, interspersed with partly sunny days, chance of snow showers with little to no accumulation expected, and temperatures mostly ranging from the mid-30s to high 50s throughout the week.
