It was a moment of reckoning for armed robbery suspects Orey Douglas and Sam Gray, found guilty by a court last Monday. The crime traced back to an August 4th incident on Sand Creek Road, whereby they were accused of holding a victim at gunpoint and making off with his possessions, as reported by the City of Brentwood Police Department.
A black sedan, the suspects' getaway car, was intercepted by Oakley PD after Brentwood officers responded to the armed robbery report. Both departments worked in a concerted effort to bring the suspects to justice. The high-speed chase that ensued resulted in the suspects crashing on Highway 160, and law enforcement later discovered a loaded handgun among the reported stolen items in the vehicle, according to the social media post from the City of Brentwood Police Department.
The Brentwood Police confirmed that the crashed vehicle matched the description provided by the victim, with 28-year-old Douglas and 38-year-old Gray being the detained occupants, as per a statement from the police department. The Hoodline report noted that Douglas was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking following the incident.
