
Brighton police are on the lookout for a 21-year-old male suspect linked to an assault on two teenagers at a Brighton YMCA. The incident unfolded Wednesday afternoon following an altercation that began during a basketball game, as NBC Boston reported. The suspect fled on foot from the facility located on Washington Street.
Details shared by the WHDH noted that the confrontation led to the assault of the two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, around 2:30 p.m. In the wake of the dispute, emergency medical services evaluated and treated the victims at the scene. With no arrests made so far, the investigation is actively pursuing leads.
The local community facility where the incident took place, the YMCA of Greater Boston, has issued a response. "Earlier today, the YMCA of Greater Boston was made aware of an altercation that took place between an adult and two teens during open gym time at our Oak Square YMCA location," the organization stated in a release obtained by WHDH. Stressing the importance of member and community safety, the YMCA assured that it is cooperating with the Boston Police Department to "address the situation and ensure that all appropriate steps are taken to resolve this matter."
