During a routine traffic stop in Brooksville last Thursday, Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Deputy D. Barlow stopped the vehicle for an inoperable taillight. The driver, Barak Bleich, born on October 21, 1977, was later subject to a drug investigation after K-9 Deputy J. Arnold and his K-9 partner, Odin, indicated the presence of narcotics.
During the search of the vehicle, deputies discovered a variety of substances. In a Crown Royal bag, they found methamphetamine crystals, two forms of fentanyl, and cocaine in a pill container. Additionally, a glass jar was found containing a white pill identified as Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, a prescription medication. According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office press release, drug paraphernalia was also located inside the vehicle.
As a result of the findings, Bleich now faces serious drug-related charges. He was arrested on trafficking, possession of multiple controlled substances without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The confiscated substances tested positive for their respective illegal compounds, bolstering the charges against him. Bleich has been transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, and a bond has been set at $12,000.
