The City of Casa Grande is alerting residents and travelers to prepare for traffic delays on Pinal Avenue due to a significant infrastructure project starting next week. According to an announcement from the city, contractors will be conducting jack and bore operations under Pinal Avenue, beginning March 31st and expected to last for about two months. The work is part of the Kortsen Road Sewer Relief Project's final phase.
Contractors will assemble their operations at the intersection of Highway 387 (Pinal Avenue) and Kortsen Road. Motorists using Pinal Avenue should expect traffic delays, including lane reductions and restricted left turns, to disrupt their everyday travels. Motorists are requested to drive slowly and follow traffic control guidance for their safety and the safety of crews working along the roadway and its shoulder.
The sewer relief project, boasting a budget of $8.7 million, extends over a length of approximately 4.6 miles. It will stretch from the Henness Road alignment through to the City's Water Reclamation Facility (WRF), increasing the sewage capacity by around 9 million gallons per day (MGD). This expansion is designed to support the city's growth and the accompanying demand for more sewer capacity, as noted by the city's announcement.
