In a coordinated morning raid, the Chelsea Police Department, alongside the Metro North Swat Team and detectives from Revere, took to 85 Highland Street to dismantle a major drug operation. The bust, which occurred yesterday, netted three arrests and the confiscation of substantial amounts of narcotics and cash. The arrested parties face serious trafficking charges linked to fentanyl and crack cocaine.
According to the Facebook announcement by Chelsea PD, Luis Angel Lopez, Joe M. Lopez, and Rony Malaquias Ramos Sanabria were the individuals apprehended in the operation. The police intricate to meticulously plan and execute the search warrant without any significant incidents, highlighting the effectiveness of multi-agency collaboration in tackling drug proliferation in the area.
Commending the efforts of the officers and SWAT team, Chelsea Police Chief Keith Houghton remarked on the operation's execution. "The precision and expertise demonstrated by the Metro North SWAT Team were instrumental in the safe execution of this operation," Houghton stated in a Chelsea PD post. He underscored the risks posed by the seized substances and his department's dedication to the war on drugs. "The seizure of these toxic and deadly substances reinforces our unwavering priority to combat drug trafficking and protect our community," Houghton added.
